Providing the Necessary Exams You Need
What Type of Exam Do You Need?
The experienced physicians at Granbury Eye Clinic conduct the following eye exams:
- Vision eye exam: to get a prescription for glasses or contact lenses.
- Important! Most health insurance plans do not cover these unless you have separate routine vision coverage. This office accepts Eyemed and VSP vision coverage plans only, and we must have this information on the date of service in order to file a claim. Information given regarding a vision plan after the date of service will be retained for the next visit, but will not be filed for previous dates of service.
- Medical eye exam: To check for eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, diabetes or new symptoms you may be having.
- Vision exam: Vision exams are routine or annual tests conducted to check your vision, screen your eyes for diseases, and / or update your eyeglass or prescription contact lens. Vision examination is usually required by most insurance companies Insurance companies define a “routine” or annual vision examination as an office visit for the purpose of checking vision, screening for disease, and/or updating eyeglass or contact lens prescriptions.
- Refraction: Refraction is the optical determination of the best possible eye vision. It is needed to determine if any medical, optical, or surgical treatment may be indicated. It is not a covered service by most insurance plans.

- Do you want to change the lens and / or frame of your prescription?
Our fee for refraction is $50.00 , is collected at the time of service, and is in addition to any co-payment. When it comes to your eyes, count on our experience and our great customer service.
